Dr. Hamed AnwarOPHTHALMOLOGIST

Dr Hamed Anwar trained in the UK and undertook his Corneal Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital London; he holds fellowships from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in London as well as from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons from Glasgow. He is on the GMC specialist register for Ophthalmology.

He is an active member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He previously held a post as an Associate Clinical Lecturer at the Institute of Neuroscience at Newcastle University.

His work on lamellar corneal transplantation has earned him several accolades including Best papers of session at the ASCRS and the UKISCRS, along with two Golden Ribbons from the AAO.

He is an active educator, both at a postgraduate and undergraduate level, including several of his articles being featured in international publications including Cornea, Clinical Ophthalmology Journal and the Journal of Refractive Surgery. He has also presented at several international conferences including ESCRS, ARVO, ASCRS, and the AAO.

He is actively involved in philanthropic work with the Graham Layton Trust, London, a Non- Profit Organization dedicated to preventing blindness in Pakistan.
