Dr. Ammar Safar PRESIDENT OF THE MEDICAL STAFF

Dr. Ammar Safar is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and a Vitreo-Retinal surgeon certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is the President of the Medical Staff at the American Hospital Dubai.

Dr. Safar undertook his medical training at Aleppo University School of Medicine in Syria, before moving to the United States for post-graduate training. He specialised in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, DC where he also served as a chief resident. He then acquired additional 2-year fellowship training in Vitreo-Retinal Diseases & Surgery at the University Of Texas, Southwestern Medical center in Dallas.

Dr. Safar then went on to hold the position of Assistant and later Associate Professor and director of Retina Surgery at the Department of Ophthalmology, Jones Eye Institute, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, in the USA.
