He did his medical retina and uveitis fellowship at the Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK.  His current practice focuses on treating medical retinal disorders, uveitis, and complex cataract surgery. Ahmed H. Assaf is a professor of Ophthalmology in the faculty of medicine, Ain Shams University, a fellow of the royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh and a consultant of phacorefractive surgery in Al-Watany eye hospital in Cairo. Cataract surgery with premium IOLs is his primary focus, together with the implementation of Femtosecond laser technology, which consists of about 30% of his total annual volume of cataract surgery. He awarded the best paper of session about his study of femtosecond laser cataract surgery in different nuclear density during ASCRS 2017. He started to implant presbyopia-correcting IOLs since 2002 and has substantial experience in various designs of multifocal, new trifocal, and extended depth of focus IOLs. He participated in the pre-launch visual outcome study of AcrySof IQ ReSTOR multifocal toric IOL and presented his results during ESCRS annual meeting in Paris, 2010. He has a particular interest in complicated cataract surgery with intra-scleral haptic fixation (ISHF), together with iris repair and different techniques of pupilloplasty.

Dr. Ahmed Awadein, MD, FRCS is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Cairo University.

He received his doctorate degree from Cairo University in 2003 and his fellowship degree from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2004. He acquired clinical fellowship training in Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland, USA in 2006, where he received an intensive medical and surgical hands-on training in the field of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus.

Dr. Ahmed Awadein is specialized in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and has performed over 10000 strabismus operations to date, including complex and recurrent cases. He has over 35 international publications in the field of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and has developed a computerized test to assist in the evaluation of patients with diplopia. He also participated as an instructor in various national and international conferences.

Ahmed Mostafa Abdelrahman, MD, FRCSED. A professor of Ophthalmology, Cairo University, since 2009 till present. In 2015, he achieved the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Total Quality Management (TQM) for Healthcare Reform. He is the founder and president of the Egyptian Society for Continuous Ophthalmic Education, (EGSCOE on telegram & Website: egscoe.info). He is a glaucoma consultant with national and international publications and innovations in the field of glaucoma surgery. He is a glaucoma reviewer for a number of PubMed prestigious Ophthalmology. He is the owner of the Giza specialized Eye center (http://www.gizaeyecenter.com) with the Glaucoma Management and Education center being part of it. 2016, the Royal College of Edinburgh council appointed him to be an examiner in the college exams. He received the Education Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 2019.

Dr. Alali completed her undergraduate medical education at National University of Ireland- Cork. She then pursued her residency in Ophthalmology at University of Toronto, Canada. After which Dr. Alali completed 2 fellowships at University of Toronto: one in Vitreoretinal Surgery and the other in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Dr. Alali

is passionate about medical education, which made her obtain a master’s in health Professions Educations from Maastricht University/ Center for Education Research, and Innovation, Schulich School of Medicine University of Western Ontario- Canada. Dr. Alali is a double board-certified ophthalmologist with double fellowships. She is currently the Residency Program Director of the Kuwait Board of Ophthalmology (KIMS) and holds a staff position at AlBahar Eye Center and Dasman Diabetes Institute in Kuwait.

Dr. Alaa Mofti is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and a Glaucoma, Cataract and Advanced Anterior Segment surgeon who is fellowship-trained under the mentorship of world-renowned surgeons at prestigious institutes in Saudi Arabia and Canada. Dr. Mofti obtained his Ophthalmology board from the joint ophthalmology residency program in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He completed a Glaucoma fellowship at King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH), in affiliation with Wilmer Eye Institute, with Dr. Randy Craven. He went abroad to complete a Glaucoma fellowship with Dr. Hady Saheb at McGill University, Canada. Dr. Alkharashi is an Assistant Professor at the department of Ophthalmology, King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and an instructor at the department of Ophthalmology, Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. He is a full time Pediatric Ophthalmologist at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Riyadh, and a part-time consultant at Boston Childrens Hospital and Mass Eye and Ear in Boston. Dr. Mahmood Showail is an Assistant Professor at the department of Ophthalmology, King Abdulaziz University and a Cornea, Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery Consultant at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Professor Dr Nihal Al Shakankiri is a Professor of Pediatric Ophthalmology in Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University in Egypt. She completed her undergraduate studies in Alexandria University and obtained her Bachelor Degree in 1989. Since 2012. Dr. Yousif is the Chief Medical Officer at the Dar Al Shifa hospital in Kuwait where he started in 2005 a medical consultant & medical director. He was the founder and the actual head of the ophthalmology department in Dar Al Shifa deemed to be the biggest & most comprehensive center in the private sector in the State of Kuwait

Dr. Yousif is a member of the American Academy Ophthalmology, Canadian Ophthalmology Society, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons, Trish & Kuwait Medical Association, He is also fellow of the Ea Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons, and the Association for Research in Visida ophthalmology

Dr. Yousif is the first doctor in Kuwait to do relax sme new refractive surgery in 2001. He is also the test doctor to do in Kuwait express valve glaucoma surgery in 2009. Dr. Yousif has attended several key conferences in different countries and in several fields

Dr. Khoueir completed his residency at the Saint-Joseph University in Beirut. He then pursued his glaucoma training by obtaining postdoctoral fellowships from the Glaucoma Institute in Paris (UPMC Sorbonne University, Paris, France) and subsequently from the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary Hospital in Boston (Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA). Dr. Khoueir received the young ophthalmologist scholarship award during the 8th International Congress on Glaucoma Surgery in 2016. Dr. Khoueir currently holds the position of associate director of the Glaucoma division at the Beirut Eye and ENT Specialist Hospital. He’s a research collaborator at the Mayo Clinic Ophthalmology department. He’s a clinical instructor and lecturer at the Saint-Joseph University medical school in Beirut. He is the co-chair of the associate advisory board of the World Glaucoma Association and a member of the associate advisory board of the International Society of Glaucoma Surgery. He is interested in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma and ophthalmic imaging with a special interest in innovative techniques such as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and glaucoma laser treatments.
